Well after a busy week and changeable weather making it a chancy thing going for a walk, never knowing if these April showers would catch us out or not, had a lovely walk today. The sun was shining, no sign of rain when we set off but the wind was pretty hectic, very blowy and cool in places!!!! It is wonderful to see the daffodils still in glorious splendour, such a cheerful sight set against the back drop of stark trees and stone walls.
Thank goodness today was not like Saturday night, I thought that we had gone back in time, with snow falling and then frost. Yes I know it can snow in April!!!, but I much prefer the lovely sunshine we had today. As did my sisters cat, who was there to greet us after our venture into the wilds of the Yorkshire countryside! He also was basking in the early warmth of our spring sunshine.
We had a stunning evening on Saturday, I think I mentioned in my tag line(!), something about food and wine, well Saturday was full of that! Dinner out at my sisters (did I mention that she is a Chef! very difficult to cook for!), well any way back to the food and wine (yes please) we had a Mediterranean evening, olives, garlic, homemade olive bread, pate and wine! followed by a delicious lasagna, more garlic and more wine, the wine was French, France has a mediterranean coast line so the theme was continued. Then in good family tradition we played games or should I say a game!!!, nothing funny you understand. We played “When I went to market I bought a…….” Goodness me, four adults full of good food and good wine trying to play a mind game that I remember playing as a child was hilarious, especially as the items we bought at the market had to be animals, then countries, and trying to find an animal or a country beginning with X was virtually impossible, then of course I am not much of a shopper, so I had to interject that I would not go to market but go on line!!!, did not seem to matter as long as you were buying!!!, So you can see why we walk!!!
A good weekend all round!, I will have to give you the recipe for the lasagna next time I am on line and let you know which wine we were drinking, definitely a lovely sauvignon blanc, very tasty!
Well that’s all for now folks, will tell you about the planned projects for this coming summer and share with you some of my previous projects, maybe get some ideas from you peeps.
