Hi! I’m Ruby B. Thanks for stopping by.
I lived in Southern Africa for many years, utilising my creative talents in Interior Design both for homes and office environments within the up-market sophisticated Northern suburbs of Johannesburg, as well as continuing to paint and explore personal expression in various mediums, including poetry and writing. Inspiration coming from the rich, vibrant African landscape and beauty of the surrounding veld.
Now I am back in the UK, living on the very edge of the stunningly beautiful and rugged Yorkshire Dales with my husband, continuing to explore my creative side by sewing bags, cushion covers and lavender sachets as well as repainting and restoring furniture in the shabby chic style, all this as well as helping my husband with our greetings card company, it all sounds very fulfilling, well it is, but not yet paying it,s way, so for day to day living I work as a nurse two days a week in a Care environment.
Also in the past I used to do open water swimming and cycling, even once trying a triathlon, I will be getting back into the swimming very soon but maybe not the cycling!!
I have recently had breast cancer and decided that as I always wanted to write, a blog was a good way to start exploring this as well as sharing snippets of my life with other people. It is also a good way to focus my mind on other interests and not be defined by the word “cancer”
I hope you enjoy my world as much as I do.
